Muralist coming to Monashee Spirits for LunaFest
Mid-Summer's Night Green 2018
For the last five years, or so, Kupskay, known as Kups, has been a full time artist, and though recently that means he will paint anything he can get his hands on, it often means full scale projects like another he is working on in Port Moody–a 85 ft by 15 ft wall for a bakery.
And, at the end of September, he will be creating a mural at Monashee Spirits Craft Distillery as well as doing live art for LUNA Noctural Art and Wonder on Sept. 29.

Local Revelstoke musicians release RevyMade Music at Monashee Spirits
Made with all local ingredients, Monashee Spirits is one of the few certified organic distilleries in Canada—using natural spring water and sustainable processes. Constantly experimenting with new flavor spirits that tie in with the community, there are some adventurous ones to try—from their garlic vodka for the Revelstoke Garlic Festival or their Bear Aware brandy that uses local fruits from the trees that attract bears in town. (Removing the fruit help the bears stay away.)

REVELSTOKE, B.C.—In my mind it’s a beautiful thing, the stone spinning out of my hand with a perfectly steady counter-clockwise turn, sliding effortlessly down the sheet, cruising all the way to the button without even a single stroke from the sweepers, with me gliding likewise, perfectly — even majestically — behind it.

Take a Tour of the new Farmers Market
I’d already sipped my share of spirits by the time I made it to Monashee Spirits Craft Distillery. Which wasn’t a bad thing. You don’t want to be uptight when sampling products with names such as Big Mountain Creamer and Vulcan’s Fire, and having a spirited (and expletive-laced) conversation with Josh McLafferty, the brains (and burly beard) behind the distillery’s operations.
Here’s something different at the market: Monashee Spirits Craft Distillery products lovingly made by Josh McLafferty (right) and his wife Jen (not present). The local distillery is already making a name for itself. It won the People’s Choice Award Winning Spirit at the East Kootenay Distillery Festival. David F. Rooney photo
